About LGEM
LGEM — large generator and electric motors — covers the heavy end of the motor grade: industrial drive motors, generator sets, large pump motors and anything too big to lift by hand.
These are worth handling as their own grade because the copper content is high and consistent, and because they need machinery to move. If you have units on site rather than in a trailer, talk to us before you try to shift them — a pickup with the right equipment is usually easier than getting them onto a truck yourself.
Aluminium-wound motors exist and are graded differently from copper-wound. If you are not sure which you have, we will identify it at intake.
