Prices on this site are a guide, not an offer

The scrap metal market moves daily, sometimes hourly. Any figure shown on the price guide or anywhere else on this site is indicative only. It is not an offer, and it does not bind us to buy at that rate. The price you are actually paid is set when your load is weighed and graded at the yard, and depends on the grade, the quantity, the condition and the market on the day.

Grade descriptions

The grade specifications on the metals we buy pages and on the export supply page describe what each grade admits and what it must be free of. They are written to the trade classifications the industry uses. A load that does not meet the specification will be graded down to whatever it actually is — we will tell you why at the weighbridge, and you are free to take it away instead.

Quotes and enquiries

Submitting the quote form, sending a WhatsApp message or calling us does not create a contract. It starts a conversation. We will give you a price based on what you describe, and that price assumes your description is accurate — a photograph of the load is worth more than any amount of typing.

Selling to us

To sell scrap metal you must be entitled to sell it and be able to show identification. We pay by electronic transfer only, never cash, as required by the Scrap Metal Industry Act 2016 (NSW). We will not buy material we have reason to believe is stolen, and we will refuse loads containing sealed cylinders, gas bottles, or hazardous material that has not been made safe.

Accuracy

We keep this site accurate and correct what we find to be wrong. We cannot promise it is free of error, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for asking us. If something here contradicts what the yard tells you in person, the yard is right — call the yard and we will sort it out.
