A family business that grew into a global group.
Shine Motors began in 1973 as a small family business. Five decades later the group runs twelve branches across the UAE, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the USA and Australia — and the Ingleburn yard is where it trades in New South Wales.
That length of trading matters for one practical reason: we are not a broker. Scrap bought at Ingleburn is processed, sorted and prepared to grade at our own facility, then supplied directly to steel mills, smelters, foundries and refineries in Australia and overseas. We deal with the major shipping lines ourselves. Because there is no middleman between your load and the mill that melts it, there is more room in the price we can pay you on the scales.
Trade and export buyers can reach the desk directly at shinemotorcorporation@gmail.com, or read the container export supply page for grades, tonnages and documentation.

Inside the yard
How we weigh, grade and pay.
Three things decide what you are paid: what the metal actually is, what it weighs, and what the market is doing that day. Here is how each of those is settled.
Weighed on our own calibrated scales
Your load goes over the weighbridge in front of you. You see the tare, the gross and the net. Nothing is weighed out of sight and no figure is estimated.
Graded against the trade classification
Price follows grade, and grade is a specification rather than an opinion. Clean copper tube is not the same product as a mixed bin, and it is not paid as though it were. We grade against the classification each metal is sold under and tell you what we have called it.
Paid by EFT before you leave
Payment is electronic, never cash — a requirement of the Scrap Metal Industry Act 2016, not a preference of ours. It clears while you are still in the yard.
Every grade we buy is specified in full — what it accepts, what it rejects and how to prepare it.

A regulated trade, run to the rules.
Scrap metal in New South Wales is governed by legislation, not by custom. These are the bodies that set the rules we work to — follow any of them and check what we say against what they say.
- SafeWork NSWWorkplace health and safety regulator. We produced our safety film under an enforceable undertaking with SafeWork.
- Scrap Metal Industry Act 2016 (NSW)The law that makes cash payment illegal in this trade and requires us to record seller identification.
- NSW EPAEnvironment Protection Authority — waste, recycling and resource-recovery regulation in New South Wales.
- ARCtickAustralian Refrigeration Council. Air conditioning units must be degassed by a licensed technician before we can accept them.
- Australian Business RegisterWhere any Australian business, including this one, can be looked up and verified.
- ReMA (formerly ISRI)The Recycled Materials Association, which maintains the grade specifications the export trade buys against.

Common questions
About the yard.
- How long has Shine Motor Corporation been trading?
- The group was founded in 1973 and has been trading continuously since. Shine Motor Corporation Pty Ltd is its Australian arm, operating the scrap metal yard at 8 Noonan Rd, Ingleburn NSW 2565.
- Where is your scrap metal yard?
- At 8 Noonan Rd, Ingleburn NSW 2565, in south-west Sydney. Drive in during opening hours without an appointment — Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm, Saturday 7am to 1pm.
- Do you buy scrap metal from the public, or only from trade?
- Both. We buy from the public, plumbers, electricians, manufacturers, demolition contractors and tradies, with no minimum for anything you bring into the yard yourself. We also supply prepared graded stock to steel mills and export buyers by the container load.
- Why do you pay by bank transfer instead of cash?
- Because cash payment for scrap metal is illegal in New South Wales under the Scrap Metal Industry Act 2016. The law exists to make stolen metal harder to move. We pay by EFT, which clears before you leave the yard, and we record photo identification against every transaction as the Act requires.
- What areas do you collect scrap metal from?
- All of New South Wales and the ACT. Our own trucks run out of Ingleburn across Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the Illawarra, the Central Coast, the Hunter and Canberra. How far we travel depends on the size of the load.
- What metals do you buy?
- Copper, brass, aluminium, stainless steel, lead, ferrous and HMS 1 & 2, insulated cable and wiring harness, batteries, radiators, electric motors, starter motors, alternators and compressors — thirty graded categories in all.
