Insulated Copper Wire 83%

The 83% band is the highest insulated grade we buy — very heavy single-core cable with a thin jacket, where almost all of the weight is copper.

This is typically transformer tails, main feed cable and heavy industrial runs. Because the recovery is so high, the rate sits close to bare copper, and it is often not worth stripping it yourself: the labour rarely beats the difference, and hand-stripping heavy cable is how people damage their hands.

Bring it whole, and we will assess it on the actual conductor size rather than a rule of thumb.
