About Extruded Aluminium

Extruded aluminium is the 6000-series section used for window and door frames, shopfronts, awnings, framing and rail — clean, consistent, and one of the better-paying aluminium grades when it is presented free of other materials.

Glass, rubber seals, plastic thermal breaks and steel screws are what pull the rate down. A window frame with the glass still in it is a mixed item; the same frame stripped is clean extrusion. Anodised and powder-coated sections are fine as-is and do not need stripping.

Shopfitters and glaziers generating this regularly are usually better served by a bin on site than by carting it in loose — it is bulky relative to its weight.
