About Soft Lead
Soft lead is clean lead solids — sheet, pipe, roof flashing, ballast, wheel weights and diving weights. It is dense, so quantities that look small on the floor weigh well on the scales.
Lead is toxic and should be handled accordingly: wash your hands after handling it, and keep it away from children and food. We take it because recycling is far better than the alternative, but it is worth treating with care in transit.
Painted lead sheet is still soft lead. Lead-acid batteries are a separate grade and are not bought as soft lead.
