Selling scrap metal is simpler than most people expect. You bring it in, it is weighed and graded in front of you, and you are paid by bank transfer before you leave. Here is the whole visit, and the few things that make it quicker.

1. Sort it at home

Each metal is a different grade with a different rate, so a sorted load is quicker to grade and every part is paid at its own rate. A magnet and a few minutes go a long way: our guide to identifying scrap metal shows how.

2. Get a rate

Rates follow the metal market and change through the week. Send a photo on WhatsApp or call, tell us roughly how much you have, and we will tell you the grade and today’s rate.

3. Bring photo ID and your bank details

NSW law requires every scrap metal dealer to record who sells to them, from photo ID such as a driver licence or a NSW Photo Card. The same law bans dealers from paying cash, so you are paid by EFT and will need your BSB and account number.

4. Drive in

The yard is at 8 Noonan Rd, Ingleburn NSW 2565. We are open Monday to Friday 7am to 4:30pm, Saturday 7am to 12:30pm, and you do not need an appointment.

5. Weighing and grading

Your metal is weighed on our scales while you watch, and graded by our staff. If part of a load does not meet a grade, it is graded as what it actually is and we tell you why. You are free to take anything away instead.

6. Get paid

Payment is made by EFT, on site, before you leave.

Too much to bring in?

We collect across NSW and the ACT, and we can drop a bin on site for demolition, strip-outs and ongoing production scrap. There is a minimum for pickups and bins, because the truck has to be worth sending, so call and tell us what you have.

Turn your metal into cash.

Send a photo of the load and we will price it on the grade, or drive into the yard at 8 Noonan Rd, Ingleburn and leave paid.
